Considering treatment for problematic substance use and substance use disorder (SUD) is often nothing short of overwhelming. Choosing a treatment program is the first step in recovery, but it can be daunting when you’re unsure what to expect. Everyone enters treatment at a different place in their life. Likewise, every treatment center offers different programs, interventions and services to fit different patients’ needs.

This is why we utilize an individualized approach to care. At Pinelands, you can expect to feel respected, understood and heard as you go through the process of treatment. We believe in holistic healing and treat all aspects of wellness rather than just the symptoms of your SUD.
It’s important to us that you know what to expect before you arrive at our facility. In addition to the information below, know that you can call us at any time for more information. We believe that as you explore treatment options, you can learn how to best advocate not only for your healing but also for living more intentionally throughout your life.

- You have the desire to quit but are unable to fully commit to sobriety
- You hide your substance use from others
- Your substance use has interfered with your ability to function in your daily life, including increased interpersonal conflict, financial strain and/or issues with work or school as a result of substance use
Treatment Philosophy at Pinelands
Pinelands Recovery Center of Medford has a small patient-to-provider ratio to ensure intimate, individualized care for each patient. Because of this, you can expect to receive individual and personal attention throughout your treatment experience. Our patient schedules include a combination of one-on-one psychotherapy sessions, group sessions, reflection time and self-care. We believe all of these elements can help you gain fresh perspectives on your sobriety and recovery, helping you live your life without the control of substances.
The Importance of Your Recovery Environment

As you explore your relationship with nature, you will discover the many benefits nature can have on your overall recovery process.
The Importance of the Therapeutic Alliance
One main thing that we believe sets Pinelands apart from other treatment facilities is the value we place on the therapeutic alliance between the patient and their treatment team. In fact, the therapeutic alliance is the number one predictor of patient success. We believe the therapeutic alliance must be centered on trust, confidence and a willingness to listen and change.
Other facilities may not place as much emphasis on this alliance, believing that the therapist is meant to have the final say. However, our team of caring and well-trained professionals knows and believes in the importance of including your voice when it comes to lasting treatment and recovery success.
